Capturing the decisive moment is the key to great photography. Regarded as one of the greatest photographers of his time, Henri Cartier-Bresson considered it the one ability that distinguishes the professional photographer from the amateur. As a professional, I have sought to capture that moment, whether it's the sun star created as the first ray of sunlight breaks the horizon or the look of anticipation in a bride's face on rehearsal night.
I have been in business as a professional photographer for ten years. Originally most of my work was scenic, nature or travel. My clients have included Time, Inc., the University of Virginia Medical Center, Monticello Foundation, Martha Jefferson Hospital, Carden-Jennings, Central Virginia Health Network, and Brinkman MDC. A number of my photographs have appeared in books and magazines. I have hundreds of fine art prints on permanent display at a variety of health care facilities, offices and homes throughout Virginia and Tennessee.
I have expanded my business to wedding and special event photography. My experience in both the technical and aesthetic aspects of photography assure that my images are compelling, creative and high quality. I do traditional poses, but not formal portraiture. Most of my work is in the journalistic style, which means I seek to capture the emotional and spontaneous nature of weddings and special events without manipulating my subjects. Through my photography, I strive to tell the complete story of your special day.
I shoot digitally with Nikon D200 10.2 megapixel and Fuji Finepix S3Pro 12.34 megapixel single-lens reflex (dSLR) cameras. For prints up to 24”x 36”, I have found that these cameras produce images which exceed the image quality of 35mm film in terms of sharpness, color, exposure and dynamic range.
Since this is a relatively new component of my business, I am willing to provide prospective clients with a very competitive package. I have a basic package to which you may add additional items a la carte, which means you can customize your package to suit your particular needs.
